ALCAZAR (ANDROID, BROWSER)

BY THE INCREDIBLE COMPANY

Evocative of Mudéjar architecture and fiendishly challenging at times, Alcazar is one of our favorite puzzle games. The premise is simple, enter through one door, draw a path which will touch all the blocks, and exit through another. And then things get challenging. Alcazar is a wonderful example of the power of simplicity: one that challenges the mind.

Perfect for: Middle East and Far Eastern Languages majors, pathfinders, and the brainy bunch.

Playtime: Minutes per puzzle, depending on your mastery

PRISONED (MAC, PC, LINUX)

BY JAKUB JUSZCZAK

Prisoned is an adventure following the solitary life of Judy, a woman constrained by the burden of depression and loneliness. Friends disappear, depression pills run out, the red wine is gone, and what's left is this quiet game, a sullen adventure to break from depression and find life on the other side.

Perfect for: Those who have encountered depression, or those who haven't and want to understand the struggle.

Playtime: About 10 minutes

POINT PERFECT (PC)

BY HIGHCASTLE STUDIOS

Point Perfect is an ode to your humble mouse. Guide your cursor through mazes or click-and-drag to clip bits off a boss. Destroy enemy projectiles with a precisely-aimed click. Click, click, click your way through surprisingly varied, and lovingly rendered, levels. Need a road map?

Perfect for: Mouse stress testers, compulsive clickers, future carpal tunnel syndromers.

Playtime: Until your index finger falls off
