THE WOLF AMONG US, EPISODE TWO (PC, Mac, Linux)
BY TELLTALE GAMES
Seedy strip clubs, underground torture chambers—life just ain't what it used to be for the displaced fables of The Wolf Among Us. The last thing standing between the gritty streets of Fabtletown and more decapitated ingénues is the Big Bad Wolf himself. And chain-smoking sherif Bigby isn't taking too kindly to tight-lipped suspects like the Woodsman and Tweedle Dee (Dum?). Cry wolf all you want, but someone's still bound to get a paddlin'.
Perfect for: Closet sadomasochists, mystery-lovers
Playtime: About 2 hours
PALE MACHINE (Browser)
BY BEN ESPOSITO
Pale Machine is a game. Well, it's actually more of a music video masquerading as a game. But it's really just about getting you to do things like lick a shoulder ear and rock a moving car from side to side until it tips. You get a new unsettling task every ten seconds or so, usually in time with the music. The music, done by an artist named bo en, recalls Max Tundra's work: experimental electronic music with a rather jaunty bent that—like the game itself—contrasts bubbliness with disquiet.
Perfect for: Fans of WarioWare, those not scared of their infinitely long tongues, music video directors
Playtime: Only a little bit longer than bo en's song: 5 minutes
THE FLOOR IS JELLY (PC, Mac)
BY IAN SNYDER
A game that asks a simple question: "What if the floor was jelly?" and then shows you the answer. You'll spring through all the seasons and each carefully crafted level in this jelly land, slowly adjusting to how it reacts to every new surrounding. It only takes a short while before you gather your new wibbly-wobbly bearings and begin bouncing from rippling walls and over wiggling spikes. Deliriously, seriously fun.
Perfect for: Fans of jello, trampolines, non-Newtonian physics
Playtime: Depends on your definition of "bite-sized"
